Brett Ligon (R-Montgomery)
Proven Conservative. Trusted Leader.

Brett Ligon is the conservative choice for Texas Senate District 4. For 17 years as Montgomery County District Attorney, Ligon has stood on the front lines of law and order, earning a reputation as a fearless defender of public safety and principled conservative leadership. Guided by the motto, “Let justice be done though the heavens fall,” he has never wavered in his mission: protecting Texans and delivering justice without compromise.

A Montgomery County native, Brett’s commitment to service began early – shaped by his stepfather, a police officer, and inspired by Texas heroes who stood up for what’s right. A graduate of Texas A&M University and South Texas College of Law, he worked his way up from jailer at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department to Assistant District Attorney under legendary Harris County District Attorney Johnny Holmes, where he prosecuted thousands of cases and led the Justice of the Peace Division. He then spent a decade as counsel for the Houston Police Officers’ Union, fighting for the men and women in uniform.

Since being elected District Attorney in 2008, Brett has transformed the office into one of the most respected in Texas. He built specialized units to crack down on child predators, drunk drivers, corrupt politicians, and violent offenders – making Montgomery County one of the safest communities in the state. His relentless pursuit of justice has earned him the trust of law enforcement, victims, and families across Texas.

Brett’s leadership doesn’t stop at the courthouse. He has worked with lawmakers to pass legislation strengthening public safety, protecting victims, and holding government accountable. He knows how to navigate Austin and deliver real results.

As your State Senator, Brett will prioritize keeping Texas families and communities safe; securing the border and defending our sovereignty, cutting property taxes and protecting taxpayers, and championing the conservative values that make Texas strong.

A devoted family man, Brett has been married to his childhood sweetheart, Shannon, for 32 years. Guided by their Catholic faith, they raised two children with a steadfast commitment to family, the sanctity of life, and Christian values.

With deep Texas roots, the respect of law enforcement across the state, and an unshakable commitment to integrity, Brett Ligon has a proven record of conservative leadership. He is ready to carry that fight to the Texas Senate – and deliver results for Senate District 4 and all Texans.
