BREAKING NEWS!

Requested Clarification: Representative Keough Chief of Staff requested readers note that neither Pat Tibbs nor Bill O’Sullivan have endorsed Keough but they “support” him.

Conroe, May 31 – State Representative Mark Keough (R-The Woodlands) has entered the race for Montgomery County Judge to challenge incumbent Craig Doyal in the 2018 Republican Primary Election. “I’m excited to be in the race. I called Craig a while ago and have filed my campaign treasurer designation.”

Keough issued a press release which avoided taking any position on any issue. The neutral press release follows:

“CONROE TX – State Representative Mark Keough, announced his candidacy for Montgomery County Judge.

“I’ve just returned from Austin and a tough legislative session. There is still work to be done in Austin as we are told that Governor Abbott will call the Texas Legislature back to special session to address some unfinished business,” Keough said.

“The last two legislative sessions have impressed upon me the critical role county governance plays in the lives of Texan families. It has also made me reconsider where I have the best opportunity to serve our area. For those reasons and many others, I am announcing my candidacy for Montgomery County Judge in the 2018 Republican Primary.

“As your County Judge I will be an advocate for the people of Montgomery County and ensure the court weighs every decision in the light of how that decision effects the people of our great county. I am running to continue to serve the community that I love and have faithfully served for many years. I will address ethics in the county government, tax concerns, mobility, fiscal responsibility and public safety.

“I am looking forward to a positive campaign where we can have a thoughtful conversation about the needs and concerns of the taxpayers in Montgomery County.

“’Though the campaign has just begun, I’m proud to announce the endorsements of Pat and Dennis Tibbs of the Montgomery County Tea Party and Lynn and Bill O’Sullivan of the Texas Patriot PAC. We will be rolling out additional endorsements in the coming days and weeks,’ Keough concluded.

“Pat and Dennis Tibbs of the Montgomery County Tea Party said, ‘Mark Keough would bring honesty and integrity back to Montgomery County government. His many years in business along with his two terms as our State Representative give him valuable experience that will greatly benefit our county.’
